The desperate step some Australians are taking to avoid lengthy Passport Office queues
Some desperate would-be travellers are paying other people to wait in line at the Passport Office for them.
It comes amid ballooning wait times at the Passport Office in Collins Street, with some people waiting up to eight hours in recent days.
CEO and co-founder of Airtasker, Tim Fung, says people are asking people to wait on their behalf.
“People are paying $150 or more on Airtasker to be able to get someone to wait in line for them,” he told Neil Mitchell.
Mr Fung says smart Airtaskers can “potentially get two jobs at the same time” to double their earnings while waiting.
