The comment from cricket commentator Isa Guha which caught Tony Jones’ attention

Cricket commentator Isa Guha has come under fire for a comment she made about Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah during the third Test at the Gabba on the weekend.

Guha referred to Bumrah as a ‘primate’ during the commentary, but Tony Jones has questioned whether there was anything wrong with the comment.

“Should we be taking her to task because of it?” Jones said.

“I think we’ve got to just be a little bit careful that we don’t become overly precious,” he said.

Executive Director of Fox Sports, Steve Crawley, also came to the defence of the commentator, saying Guha is the “least racist” person he’s ever encountered.

“Anything to do with racism or perceived racism makes me really nervous,” Crawley told Jones on 3AW Mornings.
