The ‘classic political error’ the state opposition leader is making
Neil Mitchell says Matthew Guy is making a “classic political error” by evading questions about revelations his chief of staff requested a donor make more than $100,000 in payments to his private marketing business, in addition to his taxpayer-funded salary.
Mitch Catlin resigned shortly after that news became public.
But Neil Mitchell says that’s not the end of it.
“Matthew Guy is making it worse for himself,” he said.
“He didn’t do a press conference yesterday, which looks evasive.
“He is declining requests for detailed interviews, he’s not answering basic questions.
“The damage is not so much the deal that wasn’t done, it is the messy and evasive crisis management that has followed since.”
