The blood test which could soon punish tired drivers on the roads
A blood test could soon be introduced in the next couple of years, to determine whether the cause of an accident was due to a lack of sleep from the driver.
Monash University is leading the research for the new blood test, and new research suggests drivers driving on less than five hours of sleep are as dangerous on the roads as being over the legal limit.
CEO of the Victorian Transport Association Peter Anderson believes fatigue is an issue, but doesn’t think many people would be on board with the new test.
