Behaviour by election campaigners in a wealthy Melbourne suburb has been labelled childish as a sign stoush morphs into a full-blown legal fight.

The battle to display signage in the seat of Kooyong stepped up a notch on Tuesday, as the Boroondara council moved to restrict corflutes to one per party alongside High Street, which has recently become inundated with banners.

“A number of these constituents have behaved like children,” Jacqui Felgate said on 3AW.
