The All-Australian captain is conspicuously absent from Sydney’s leadership group

Sydney has named three co-captains for 2019.

Josh Kennedy has been joined in the role by reliable defender Dane Rampe and midfield gun Luke Parker.

Lance Franklin was not named in the Swans’ eight-man official leadership group.

Sportsday host Dwayne Russell said it makes Franklin’s appointment as the All-Australian captain all the more mystifying.

“It’s an elephant in the room,” Dwayne said on Friday.

“The Swans cannot ever find a spot for him in the leadership group.”
