‘That is fantastic’: How Shane McInnes met the French president!

3AW’s Olympic commentator Shane McInnes has been busy in Paris ahead of the Games.

But there was one photo he posted overnight which shocked Ross and Russ, where he managed to meet French president Emmanuel Macron at a pre-Games function.

He told 3AW Breakfast how it happened, with Shane’s basic French coming in handy to set up the chance meeting.

“This is where it was impressive,” Shane McInnes said on 3AW.

“He actually had a conversation – he said he loved Australia and it is wonderful to have (Australian media) here.”
