Terence Kelly has pleaded guilty to kidnapping four-year-old Cleo Smith from a Western Australia campsite.

Cleo went missing from a tent while camping with her parents at Quobba Blowholes in October, 2021.

Police found her 18 days later after she was allegedly held at a Carnarvon residence by Mr Kelly.

During an appearance this morning in Carnarvon Magistrates Court, Mr Kelly pleaded guilty via video link to child abduction.

Host of Perth Live on 6PR, Oliver Peterson, says the case has “got a long way to run” but the alleged abductor is expected to receive a “pretty significant” sentence.

“We’ve got a lot to play out.”

He remains in custody at Casuarina Prison, and is due in court in late March, when a sentencing date will be set.
