Tennis Australia defends ground pass price jump
Tennis Australia boss Craig Tiley has rejected suggestions the Australian Open is becoming less affordable for families.
Speaking on 3AW Mornings, Mr Tiley said tennis fans were getting more value than ever before.
The cost of a ground pass for this year’s grand slam is $49.
“It’s $5 for a kid to get in – and that’s for an entire day,” Mr Tiley said.
“We really want to be a family friendly event.
“We’ve also opened up Hisense Arena.
“And this year I think we’ve more than doubled the entertainment.
“We’ve doubled the music offering and the amount of food and restaurants on site.
“And we’ve quadrupled the size of the kids zone.
“We think it’s still the best buy.”
