Teen heroes explain how they rescued a drowning man
Two young lifesavers who pulled an unconscious man from Lake Mulwala have modestly played down their efforts.
Police say they have little doubt the man would have drowned had teenagers Grace Creenaune and Erica Montgomery not come to his rescue on Tuesday.
The teenagers were working at a nearby water park at Yarrawonga when a 19-year-old man started struggling in the water after diving off a bridge.
They used a flotation device to swim the man back to shore.
“I feel like anybody would have done the same – we weren’t going to just leave him there, obviously,” Erica told Tom Elliott.
“I don’t feel like I’ve done anything outstanding.”
