Teen driver charged after nearly striking pedestrians in Melbourne’s north
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with 16 offences after allegedly colliding with four cars and narrowly missing pedestrians in Melbourne’s north.
It’s alleged a grey Ford Territory with false number plates was seen driving erratically on Barry Road at about 3.25pm yesterday.
It was then spotted on the wrong side of the road on Corinella Crescent in Dallas, where it swerved to miss pedestrians before being followed by police.
The vehicle crashed into four vehicles before coming to a stop on Congram Street.
A resident on the street ushered the teenager into his house to hide from police yesterday afternoon.
The Dallas boy locked himself inside before being arrested.
He’s been charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, unregistered vehicle, eight counts of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and several other offences.
The boy has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
