Teen charged over crash that killed Cooper Ratten
A 17-year-old has been charged over the crash that killed the son of Carlton football champion Brett Ratten.
Cooper Ratten, 16, was killed when he was thrown from the car when it crashed near Yarra Glen on August 16.
Police today confirmed they have charged a Healesville boy with a number of offences including culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, reckless conduct endangering life, theft of motor vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
He has been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives also charged a 17-year-old Yarra Glen boy with theft of motor vehicle on 25 August.
He has also been bailed to appear before a children’s court.
