Tech expert blasts ‘bizarre’ Optus mail-out stuff up
Optus are sending out letters in the wake of the massive data breach at the telco, however letters are going to the wrong addresses, to people who’ve never held and Optus account, and even former clients who’ve died.
Callers to the Neil Mitchell program have revealed they’ve received as many as three letters in a day and they don’t even have Optus accounts.
Technology expert Geoff Quattromani says Optus is “stuffing this up on a whole other level”.

“If they stopped doing everything for a minute that would be a good thing, in some ways, because the mailing that’s happening at the moment, and the communication they’re even putting out online, it’s just getting more and more confusing,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“I think they’re looking at subsidiaries of theirs — they acquired Virgin Mobile a long time ago, they used to run Boost Mobile a long time ago.
“I feel like they’ve just combined everything that they may have with a name and address and they’re just mass mailing everybody that they can, and they’re making a whole bunch of mistakes along the way.”
