Sydney CEO Tom Harley is calling for the AFL to change Mark of the Year rules on the back of Isaac Heeney’s hanger in the Qualifying Final against GWS.

Under current rules, only marks taken in the home and away season are eligible to win the prestigious award, but Harley says it’s time eligibility was changed so finals marks can also be given the honour.

“I would love to see (the rule changed),” he said on 3AW Drive.

“I’ve seen a lot of AFL footy in my time – that’s the best mark I’ve ever seen.”
