Suspicious fire breaks out at a factory in Melbourne’s north

A suspicious fire has broken out at a factory in Melbourne’s north.

The blaze broke out at a factory in Thornycroft Street, Campbellfield at about 12.15am.

Firefighters took about an hour to extinguish the fire, which caused extensive damage.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but police are treating it as suspicious.

A crime scene has been established and arson investigators will attend the scene this morning to determine the exact cause.
