Supreme Court makes ‘sweeping redundancies’ as Victoria battles crime crisis

Concerns have been raised again about Victoria’s ability to deal with the current crime crisis amid reports of job cuts at one of the state’s highest courts.
3AW Drive has been told the Supreme Court has recently made “sweeping redundancies”, with the court later confirming about 15 roles “would be reduced” if the proposed restructure is confirmed.

Mary (not her real name) told Jacqui Felgate court workers were “absolutely gobsmacked” when told about the redundancies.
“These guys (who the redundancies will affect) do a lot of the work with judges to prepare them for trial,” she said on 3AW Drive.
