STRIKE OFF: Metro and RTBU reach agreement

The train strike that threatened grand final week has been called off.

Metro and the RTBU came to an agreement on Friday evening.

3AW’s intervention yesterday ended a stalemate between the two which resulted in ‘positive’ meetings being held to avert strike action next week.

Discussions restarted at 10.30am on Friday and looked set to drag into next week before a deal was struck just before 8pm.
