Star jockey thrown off horse ahead of Cox Plate during dramatic Moonee Valley incident

There’s been drama at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning, with a jockey throw off a horse during track work ahead of Saturday’s Cox Plate.

Jockey James McDonald hit the turf aboard Via Sistina, with the horse doing laps on the track uncontrolled.

Tony Jones called into 3AW Breakfast from the track, telling Ross and Russ the horse did three laps of the track before she was brought under control.

“The horse just absolutely bolted,” he said.
