St Kilda star Jake Carlisle is at risk of missing a “significant chunk” of the season.

The key defender is battling soreness in his back.

The Saints said he “hadn’t improved” as hoped and would now see a specialist.

“We need to assess whether surgery’s going to be an option and if it is, that’s going to mean a significant chunk of his season is interrupted,” the club said in a statement.
