St Kilda comments on mammoth reported Jacob Weitering contract offer

St Kilda football boss Dave Mission says no “formal offer” has been made to Carlton gun defender Jacob Weitering.

Wide World of Sports host Sam McClure recently reported that the Saints tabled an informal $12 million contract to Weitering over eight years, something which the club didn’t deny during an interview on 3AW Football.

“It was a rumour and that’s what it was,” he said on 3AW.

“There wasn’t a formal offer made to Jacob, but we’re looking to explore free agency like any other club.”
