St Kilda and North Melbourne ‘keeping tabs’ on Sydney youngster, says Mitch Cleary
At least two Victorian clubs are keeping ‘close tabs’ on Sydney youngster Zak Jones, says Mitch Cleary.
The young Swan is out-of-contract at the end of the season and could attract plenty of interest, given his strong start to the year.
‘North Melbourne and St Kilda are the two clubs that I’ve heard are keeping very close tabs on Zak Jones,’ Cleary said on Sportsday.
‘He was of their best in last year’s grand final and is averaging 21 touches this year.’
Cleary said the salary cap situation in Sydney was one to follow, given Sam Reid was also yet to put pen to paper.
Matthew Richardson was asked whether his old club Richmond should try and lure him back to Victoria.
‘Richmond would absolutely be looking for a tall forward at the end of year,’ Richo said.
‘If Sam Reid’s available, they should 100 per cent be looking at him.’
