Sportsday newsbreaker makes a BIG call about this bowling attack!
Many cricket fans are expecting a long summer supporting Australia, but Tom Morris isn’t one of them.
The Sportsday newsbreaker has gone as far as branding Australia favourites to beat India in the four-Test series starting this week.
The reason? Australia’s bowling attack.
He says it may be Australia’s best. Ever.
“I think this bowling attack – this quartet (Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon) – is as strong as Lee, Gillespie, McGrath and Warne,” Morris said on Sportsday.
“It’s probably the strongest, when you consider the duration of time they’ve been together.
“This is an all-time great quartet of bowlers – it could be the best quartet we’ve ever produced.
“It needs to be, because our batting is weak.”
All four bowlers are ranked within the top 20 in the world right now, according to the ICC. Australia is the only country in world cricket who can boast that.
That’s why Morris is expecting Australia to win the series.
“You need to take 20 wickets to win a test match,” Morris said.
