South Australian premier reflects on historic Gather Round

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas has reflected on the historic Gather Round in the AFL with all 18 clubs descending on the state for the first time in the league’s history.

The event has a huge success, and has been locked in for another three years in South Australia, with the premier opening up on the negotiations behind the extension and even had a cheeky shot at Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews!

“Both of us were keen to strike while the iron was hot, I particularly was,” Premier Malinauskas told Neil Mitchell, explaining the agreement himself and AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan came to to extend Gather Round in the state.
