South Australia launches bold bid to lure Victorian businesses across the border
South Australia is set to launch bold campaign to lure investment away from Victoria.
The South Australian Labor government honoured a promise of no new taxes and no tax increases when it handed down its budget on Thursday.
Co-host of Breakfast on FIVEAA in Adelaide, David Penberthy, says the South Australian government closely watched Victoria’s budget — and now they’re moving to attract businesses to move west.

“At the time our government went ‘Crikey, that’s a bit of an opportunity for us’,” he told Ross and Russel.
“They went ‘Let’s get Invest SA … and also the Department of Premier and Cabinet to look at some sort of advertising campaign aimed at the Victorian market, aimed at Victorian businesses who are fed up with the tax regime there to head west'”.
