Sorrento local left furious at the local council’s planned works over the festive season

Locals in Sorrento are furious the main shopping strip on Ocean Beach Road will be a “no go zone” for 11 days across the festive season, with the local council deciding to block the strip to traffic.

Caller Anne gave Neil Mitchell a red hot tip on the news, with it later confirmed on the program.

Owner of Cape Outdoor and Cape Merchants in Sorrento on the busy strip, Anna Koren, told Neil Mitchell the closure could NOT have come at a worse time.

Mayor of the Mornington Peninsula Shire, Councillor Steve Holland, then claimed the decision to block the strip is just “one idea of many”.
