UPDATE: Police have arrested three men during a massive operation across several Melbourne suburbs on Wednesday.

Tim rang Neil Mitchell on Wednesday morning and said he couldn’t believe what he was seeing, with “probably 40 police cars” at the intersection of Toorak and Warrigal roads.

“There is something big going down,” he told Neil Mitchell.

Police have since released the following statement…

Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police executed search warrants at three residential addresses in Chadstone, Clayton and Elsternwick this afternoon.

With the assistance of Victoria Police Special Operations Group, three men have been arrested and will now be interviewed by police including a 36-year-old Clayton South man, a 32-year-old Chadstone man, and a 34-year-old Portuguese national.

Police also seized a quantity of drugs, including cannabis cultivation equipment and about 40 mature cannabis plants, a large quantity of cash, a small amount of ammunition and a quantity of an unknown white powder.

The investigation remains ongoing

There is no immediate risk to community safety.
