Some tips on avoiding bill shock as energy prices spiral out of control
A consumer advocate has advised Australians to look at locking in a “reasonable” fixed rate energy plan to avoid copping the brunt of skyrocketing prices over the next 12 months.
It’s expected to kick off on July 1.
“The early signs are really, really concerning,” Joel Gibson, from One Big Switch, told Tom Elliott on 3AW Drive.
“We’ve seen some smaller retailers in the past couple of weeks – in other states, to be fair – go up by as much as 100 per cent, even 280 per cent in the case of one retailer.”
