‘So upset’: Stage star caught short in Qantas costume bungle
Passengers on a Qantas flight from Melbourne to Brisbane have had a rude shock this afternoon after their plane touched-down having not had any luggage loaded on board.
One of those caught up in the bungle is Australian screen star Rhonda Burchmore, who was travelling with “20 beaded, glorious costumes” as part of her show.
I was on the same flight and all my stage costumes and everything for my show Cabaret de Paris – at QPAC that’s been rescheduled three times due to border closures and floods are somewhere ??? The guy there said it might take days to retrieve. I’m so upset https://t.co/dJTdIjmcqf

She’s performing back-t0-back shows on Saturday, having already postponed them three times due to border closures and floods.
“I’m just beside myself, I’m just so upset,” Ms Burchmore told Heidi Murphy on 3AW Drive.
“It’s just the deception, because we were actually on the flight, and they said ‘ladies and gentlemen some of the luggage may not have been loaded’ but it was a complete lie.
“None of it had.”
Ms Burchmore said Qantas have said they have “no idea” when they’ll be able to get luggage to passengers.
“It’s tens and tens of thousands of dollars of costumes,” she said.
“It was just ridiculous at the airport, everyone was just ready to go on holiday and they’re going ‘well what do we do now’.
“It’s diabolical.”
