With the draft period set to begin in three weeks, one junior footballer likely to be picked by either Hawthorn or the Western Bulldogs, has discussed his junior career and compensating for his height.

Small forward, Nick Watson, says he’s loved the build-up to the draft but he has had to work harder to compensate for his height, coming in at 170cm.

“I’ve been told, basically all my life, to this day that I’m too small to play AFL, and there’s always been heaps of people saying I’m too small, I’ve just controlled the controllable,” he told Sam McClure and Matthew Lloyd.
