SLY: Two ‘breakthroughs of sorts’ in the deadly mushroom lunch investigation
Crime reporter John ‘Sly’ Silvester says there have been two “breakthroughs of sorts” in the investigation into the Leongatha mushroom poisoning which killed three people.
But, despite the breakthroughs, he warned it’s likely it’ll be a long time before the investigation is over.
“Anyone looking for an early breakthrough here, I think, short of a smoking gun, will be disappointed because … if this was, say, the Hume Highway from Melbourne to Sydney, we’d be at about Fawkner,” he told Ross and Russel.
