The officer received deserved praise for his quick-thinking heroics in December, but it’s not the first time he’s been called into unexpected action.

Sly of the Underworld told Ross and John the officer once restrained an aggressive passenger on a domestic Qantas flight.

Ross reckons it must make the officer an early front-runner for Policeman of the Year.
