Sly: How the Jason Roberts situation caused fractures within Victoria Police

John ‘Sly’ Silvester says long-term police friendships have been fractured by the Jason Roberts situation.

He says while there’s no question Jason Roberts was entitled to a retrial, no one seems to know how the reinvestigation came about.

“There was this reinvestigation which nobody, to my knowledge seems to know who generated it. It certainly didn’t come from within the crime department,” he told Ross and Russel.
