Simon Lethlean lands job at St Kilda
St Kilda has appointed Simon Lethlean as its new head of football.
Lethlean, who resigned from his role at the AFL mid-year due to an “inappropriate relationship” with a younger staff member, will fill the void left by Ameet Bains.
St Kilda chief Matt Finnis spoke with Sportsday about the appointment, saying Lethlean had a “unique” skill-set that set him apart from other candidates.
He said the Saints were convinced the former AFL No.2 was the right man for the job after some “pretty direct and confronting” conversations.
“He’s been completely open and accountable for what happened,” Finnis said on 3AW.
