Shepparton leading the way in CCTV surveilance

Shepparton has the most advanced CCTV network in Victoria.

Senior sergeant Ross Britain said the Council had put a lot of work into the system.

‘We made sure that what we were putting into the CBD area was the best,’ Mr Brittain said.

Mr Brittain said installing the cameras has led to ‘quite a few’ convictions.

‘When offenders are interviewed, and they know they’ve been filmed on the cameras, they plead guilty,’ Mr Brittain said.
