Shane McInnes questions the AFL’s rumoured appointment to assist Laura Kane

Shane McInnes thinks the AFL must back Laura Kane or be prepared for questions to arise over the league’s decision-making.

McInnes criticised the lack of messaging from the head office and wants to see Kane speak to the media to provide clarity.

“At the moment, it seems the AFL wants its cake and wants to eat it too,” McInnes said on 3AW Football.

“You either back her in and put her out in front of the media or put her in front of the fans or you put someone else in the role.”
