Shane McInnes is calling on the Allan government to “do more”  to help areas such as the Grampians recover from significant bushfires.

The local community wants to see the existing Airbnb tax scrapped in the interim to help lure more tourists to the area.

The 3AW Afternoons pleaded with the government to do as much as possible to aid the local community on the back of a devastating fire season.

“Why not do more,” he said.

“Why wouldn’t the government consider removing the short-stay levy for 12 months if it makes it more affordable to help visit the regions.”
