Search for ‘mysterious’ surfer who helped Jack and Tiarna after they were attacked by a shark
A teenager who was bitten by shark at Ocean Grove this week says he’d like to thank a “mysterious” surfer who was the first on the scene to help him and his friend during the ordeal.
Jack Shaw and his friend Tiarna were swimming in shoulder deep water when they were attacked by what is believed to have been a bronze whaler.
“I got off pretty lucky,” Jack told Tony Jones.
He was bitten on the back.
Jack went into detail about what happened during the ordeal, saying a surfer was first on the scene to help Tiarna, who suffered a nasty bite to her leg that required surgery.
“We don’t know where he went,” Jack said.
“He was a real, real help.
“I’d like to thank him and I’m sure Tiarna and her family would, as well.”
