Scammers targeting people trying to purchase Victorian fishing licence

The Rumour File has been alerted to a scam website that is trying to get people to purchase a Victorian recreational fishing licence for more than double the price it actually costs.

Acting CEO at the Victorian Fisheries Authority Luke O’Sullivan joined 3AW Breakfast and has confirmed yesterday’s unfortunate rumour and explained how they are trying to stop the scammers.

“We’ve done a lot of work to try and minimise the impact of this,” O’Sullivan said.

“It’s unreasonable people are paying more than they should.”
