Sam Newman pays tribute to his close mate, Shane Warne

Sam Newman has paid an emotional tribute to his great mate Shane Warne on 3AW.

The duo were incredibly close.

“He had an immense love of live,” Newman told Neil Mitchell on Saturday morning, following Warne’s sudden death.

“He just enjoyed being who he was.

“He was a fantastic person.

“He was considerate, he was engaging, he was polite and was genuinely concerned about the person he spoke to.

“He was very supportive of me.

“If they ever played cricket in America, he would have been as big as any pop star there was in the world.”
