Sam McClure’s final sign-off as he finishes up as host of Wide World of Sports

Sam McClure has delivered his final sign-off as he finishes up as Wide World of Sports host, with Jimmy Bartel set to take the reigns as host of the show in 2025.

McClure had a few things to get off his chest before he finished up, including some comments on Harley Reid and Carlton, before thanking his listeners, producers, his friends and family, including his late father Geoff.

“Thank you for your calls, your passion, your intellect, and your ability to drive conversation,” McClure said.

And Leigh Matthews decided to join the program to wish Sam all the best!

“I’ve enjoyed the Tuesday night hours that we’ve spent together … all the best for the next phase!” Matthews told McClure.
