Sam McClure has major update on Zach Merrett ‘godfather’ offer speculation

Essendon has issued Wide World of Sports host Sam McClure a statement responding bombshell trade speculation surrounding their captain Zach Merrett.

Nine News’ Tom Morris reported on Sunday night that St Kilda were prepared to offer a bombshell ‘godfather’ offer to Merrett in a bold attempt to prise him out of Essendon.

“Clearly discussion got to at least a point where someone said ‘OK, how must would (an opposition club) be willing to offer’,” McClure said on 3AW.
