Saints coach says Saturday’s match banner was ‘harmless’ fun

Saint’s coach Alan Richardson has responded to Saturday’s cheeky match banner labelling it ‘harmless’ fun. 

The banner was seen to take a little dig at the Hawks for their 2017 draft picks.

It read: ‘Our Jacks will be nimble, our Jacks will be quick. Saints say thanks for the first-round pick.’

Richardson has told 3AW Football he thought the banner was pretty harmless.

‘It’s a bit of a competition between the two supporter groups,’ said Alan.

‘I did feel a little bit uncomfortable about it, but the reality is that the Hawks have got two great young midfielders that they were after.’
