Rumour file: Police hunting turtle thieves

Police are hunting two burglars who stole turtles from a house in Melbourne’s west.
The pets, worth about $200, were taken from a Brooklyn house along with several household items cooker on December 19 or early the next day.
Police told 3AW Breakfast the Australian Eastern Long-Neck Turtles are 8-9 years old and worth about $200.
‘But obviously huge sentimental value,’ Sergeant Mitch Montgomery told Justin and Kate.
‘If anyone’s seen anyone kicking around with a couple of turtles they shouldn’t have, we’d love them to come forward to us.’
