A customer at a suburban Bunnings store has literally taken matters into his own hands, after purchasing a rather large item.

Justin and Kate were told a ute hired from the store was spotted with a very tall box on the tray, but it seems the man wasn’t quite equipped to get his purchase home.

“Obviously they didn’t have any ropes to tie it in so a bloke just held it there,” 3AW Breakfast heard.

“It looks like an enormous hot water system!” Kate said.

“It’s not going to be to be too good going around a corner.”
