RUMOUR CONFIRMED: AFL great Doug Hawkins was taken to hospital after lightning struck his Yarraville work site during Thursday morning’s storms.

The Western Bulldogs champion is thankfully OK, but told Ross and Russel he was left feeling light-headed and unwell after taking shelter in a small booth while the storms rolled through.

“I was too scared to get out of the box,” Hawkins said.
