Ross Lyon gives St Kilda playing group ‘kick up the ass’ in quarter time address

Star St Kilda forward Max King says coach Ross Lyon didn’t hold back in a quarter time address after the Saints started slowly against Richmond on Sunday.

St Kilda went goalless in the first quarter and only kicked one major in the first half, but responded after half time to win by seven points.

Speaking to 3AW Football post-match, King said Lyon gave the playing group a “little kick up the ass” during quarter time.

“We needed a little kick up the ass and we got going (after Ross Lyon’s address),” he told 3AW.

“We were disappointed with the start as well and it was good to respond.”
