Road Safety Camera Commissioner, Neville Taylor, has addressed the large discrepancy of fixed safety cameras in Melbourne’s eastern and western suburbs.

Currently there are 100 fixed safety cameras in Melbourne’s east, compared to only 38 in the west, and Mr Taylor said he’d be “concerned” if part of the criteria for placing fixed cameras was about spreading them geographically across the state.

Mr Taylor also spoke to Neil Mitchell on the new annual report on road safety set to be tabled in parliament today, why he wants professional drivers’ help, and the horrendous road toll in Victoria.
