Richmond immortal Jack ‘Captain Blood’ Dyer is getting a street named in his honour
After three years of campaigning, Richmond immortal, Jack ‘Captain Blood’ Dyer is getting a street named in his honour.
Dyer Street, will be located within a new apartment complex in Richmond, on the corner of Palmer and Griffiths Streets.
Speaking on 3AW Breakfast, spokesperson for the Jack Dyer Tribute Campaign, Suzana Talevski said there was never a doubt it would be approved.
‘It’s such a joyous and momentous occasion, we are very proud for this campaign.’
The campaign which was started by Richmond locals believed Captain Blood’s contribution to the community should be recognised, Yarra Council supported the push.
The Richmond FC club also supported the proposal by encouraging the Tiger faithful to sign an online petition.
Jack Dyer played 312 games for Richmond, is an Australian Hall of Fame Legend and was a member of the Victorian police force for nine years.
