The father of one-punch victim Patrick Cronin says Noah Balta’s availability to play this weekend has brought Richmond “into disrepute”.

The Tigers defender pleaded guilty to assault following an incident in December, with sentencing set to take place on April 22.

Matthew Cronin, who is a Richmond fan, told Jacqui Felgate he was deeply troubled by both the club and AFL’s stance on the issue.

“The AFL has a terrific opportunity to set a benchmark,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“I’m really disappointed as a Richmond supporter … I hope he never comes back, that’s my opinion of him.
