Why residents oppose a much-needed hospital in Melbourne’s north-east
More than 1000 people have signed a petition opposing the construction of a much-needed hospital in Diamond Creek.
Residents have cited concerns over traffic flow, a loss of kangaroo habitat and a drop in property values as the reasons for their opposition.
Diamond Creek resident, Martin Penrose, who started the petition, says he’s not against the construction of a new hospital in the region, but “there hasn’t been proper due diligence” and “everything about the decision is wrong”.
